Attention, moms! I am sure that a lot of you probably know that the struggle is real when it comes to getting a picky toddler to eat a substantial meal. If we let her, Maddy would exclusively eat animal crackers and chicken. The past month or so has been a real challenge getting her to eat regular meals, and I worry that she doesn’t get enough fat and protein. An idea came to me the other day: why not make her a smoothie in the blender? That way she doesn’t really know she’s eating fruit, and she’ll be getting a full serving.
So I got my ingredients, blended them all together, and gave it to her in a sippy cup with a straw. She loved it! My next trick is to add spinach 😀 Below is my recipe, which can be tweaked to your liking.
- 1 frozen banana
- a handful of strawberries
- whole milk
- 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter
- Yogurt (Optional. We used Stonyfield YoKids yogurt)
Add all the ingredients to your blender and mix until creamy. Serve cold. Enjoy!
