How To Ripen A Banana In 10 Minutes

IMG_5116.JPG

When I grocery shop I usually buy bananas three “families” at a time-ya know, three bunches? 😉 We go through them so fast in our smoothies so I like to have a bunch on hand. Often times they still haven’t ripened by the time I need to use them, and pale yellow bananas do not taste very good in smoothies.

So I decided to ripen them in a tropical climate I like to call “the oven”. I was shocked when it actually worked. This is a game changer in the banana world!

Anyway, what you do is preheat your oven to 325 degrees. IMG_5110.JPG

Once preheated, put the banana, in its peel, on the rack. Bake for 10 minutes. Be careful taking it out, the banana gets hot! It will look very dark, like this: img_5116

But not to worry, it’s soft and perfect on the inside. Just let it cool, then peel and enjoy.
